Architecture begins with attention. To the place. To light. To proportion. To the way each space will be lived, moved through, and felt.
We believe good residential architecture begins with a way of looking.
Looking at the place, the light, the proportion, and what will give meaning to each space. Before design, there is a silent attention that makes it possible to discover the essence of each project.
"A sculpture turned into space, art in its robustness bent and yielded to thought and creativity."
A home is not defined only by what it shows, but by what it makes you feel when you inhabit it.
We are interested in spaces that retain their strength beyond the first impression: those where light, proportion, material, and silence build a natural sense of belonging.
That is the residential architecture we seek to create.
Architect · Founder · LAGO Architects, 2007
"Architecture doesn't begin on paper. It begins with listening."
Max Lago founded LAGO Architects in 2007 with a precise idea: that architecture is born from a clear, sensitive, and deeply attentive gaze. Each project begins with a careful listening to the place, the climate, the light, and the aspirations that give meaning to the commission — before a single line is drawn.
Then, in that silence where the work begins to reveal itself, the idea emerges that orders the project: an initial intuition capable of becoming space, matter, and emotion.
With over 19 years of experience between Spain, Argentina, and the United States, he has developed a way of working in which technical rigour and spatial sensibility are not opposites, but part of the same pursuit. He personally directs every commission, from the first sketch to the final technical documentation.
If you are planning a private residential project and are looking for architecture with character, precision, and coherence, we would love to hear your idea. We work with clients in different contexts and geographies, accompanying each project with a clear, close, and rigorous approach.
